«Пригоди барона Мюнгаузена» — роман у новелах німецького письменника Рудольфа Еріха Распе, що вперше опубліковано 1786 року. Книга складається з фантастичних розповідей від імені головного героя — барона Мюнгаузена, який дійсно жив у Німеччині на початку XVIII століття, потім служив у Російській імперії та повернувся згодом на батьківщину. «Пригоди барона Мюнгаузена» засновано на низці анонімних текстів про різноманітні кумедні та хвацькі трапунки барона, які Р. Распе опрацював літературно, а потім їх кількаразово видавали англійською мовою. Згодом по тому ці історії об’єднали під назвою власне «Пригоди барона Мюнгаузена». Німецький поет Ґотфрід Авґуст Бюрґер упродовж 1776–1779 років переклав твір Р. Распе німецькою мовою, додавши до нього кілька оригінальних розповідей, які відтоді вважають невід’ємною складовою «Пригод барона Мюнгаузена».
