Знаменитий австрійський письменник Франц Кафка (1883—1924), більшість творів якого були опубліковані вже після смерті автора, є визнаним новатором у прозі ХХ століття. У видавництві «Фоліо» вийшли друком його романи «Замок», «Процес», «Америка», а також «Листи до Мілени. Лист батькові». «Листи до Феліції» адресовані Феліції Бауер — берлінській знайомій, а потім нареченій Кафки, з якою він двічі був заручений, проте подружжям вони так і не стали.
Листування з Феліцією тривало понад п’ять років — з 1912-го по 1917-й. Воно відображало всю складність стосунків між адресатами. На жаль, листування одностороннє, оскільки листи самої Феліції письменник спалив після остаточного їхнього розриву. В листах розкривається особистий світ Кафки, особливості його життя й оточення, як це відчував, усвідомлював і переживав сам письменник.
