Іван Драч (нар. 1936 р.) — відомий український поет-шістдесятник, громадсько-політичний діяч, лауреат Національної премії України ім. Т. Г. Шевченка, Герой України. Протягом більш як п'яти десятиріч літературної діяльності він видав багато збірок поезій, драматичних творів, перекладів, кіноповістей. І. Драчеві притаманні ерудиція, вимогливий смак, масштабність бачення художнього життя, проникливість і гострота характеристик, бездоганність стилю. Його поезія — це насамперед поезія запитань, а не відповідей, поезія поставлених проблем, спроба достукатися до людини. Він шукає виходу, здається, знаходить, сумнівається й знову шукає, фіксує живе життя в кожному своєму слові.
